Why I made this tool

I wanted a quicker way to compare sizes and keep the measurements we use most often. Some people in my family would rather not go out to try things on, so having their measurements to hand makes shopping for them much easier. The tool cannot promise a perfect fit, but it can rule out obviously unsuitable sizes before we buy.

What it helps with

Known-size conversion and measurement-based estimates across US, EU, UK and JP systems, with reusable people profiles stored on the current device.

When it is most useful

1. Shopping on an overseas website that uses a different size system.
2. Estimating a starting size from foot length, height or body measurements.
3. Buying for family or friends and keeping their usual measurements together.
4. Checking a likely size before reading the brand’s own chart.

Before you start

1. A size that already fits well, or recent body measurements.
2. The brand’s official size chart.
3. The product category, age group and relevant fit details.

How to use it

1. Choose shoes, clothing, kids, kids’ shoes or bra sizing.
2. Select known-size conversion or measurement estimate, then enter the requested details.
3. Choose a saved person and use Quick Match, or calculate without saving a profile.
4. Read the suggested reference sizes, then compare them with the brand’s own chart and product reviews.
5. If useful, save the person’s name, measurements and notes for next time.

How to read the result

The result is a cross-system reference, not a guarantee. When measurements sit on a shared boundary, the tool uses the larger size to reduce the risk of an overly tight fit.

What it cannot do

1. Brands, collections and even different years can use different measurements for the same label.
2. Width, cut, fabric stretch, toe shape and personal preference all affect fit.
3. Always check the exact product chart and returns policy before buying.
