Why I made this tool

When several people need something from the medicine cabinet at once, the difficult part is often not the medicine itself but knowing whether it is still there, where it was put and whether it has expired. I built one shared inventory so the household can check first and I only need to review it from time to time.

What it helps with

Names, categories, quantities, expiry dates, storage locations, photos, tags and usage records for household medicines and first-aid supplies.

When it is most useful

1. Checking what is already at home before buying more.
2. Finding items that are running low or approaching expiry.
3. Managing supplies stored in several cupboards, rooms or boxes.
4. Keeping a record that can be backed up or opened in a spreadsheet.

Before you start

1. The packaging and expiry date.
2. Current and reserve quantity.
3. Storage location.
4. A clear package photo if it would help identification.

How to use it

1. Add an item and enter its name, category, expiry date, quantity, unit and location.
2. Add reserve stock, tags, notes or a photo where useful.
3. Record usage so the remaining quantity stays meaningful.
4. Update the record when opening a new box or bottle.
5. Make a regular backup and export CSV when you want a spreadsheet copy.

How to read the result

The result is a searchable household inventory. It helps you locate and count supplies; it does not tell you whether anyone should take them.

What it cannot do

1. It does not diagnose, recommend a medicine or calculate a dose.
2. Expiry dates, quantities and intended use depend on what you enter from the packaging.
3. Ask a pharmacist, doctor or emergency service about medicine safety, disposal or urgent situations.
